Are you ready for Windows 7

With the newest version of Windows scheduled to be released in approximately 1 1/2 to 2  years the majority of consumers are still struggling with Windows Vista. Either their old computers just can’t handle the stress or older programs won’t run on the newer OS. Even newer systems deemed “Vista Certified” weren’t really capable of running the OS efficiently. So how can you be sure that your computer will run an OS that’s planned to have extra features such as multi-touch interface, voice and digital ink just a few of the new input options rumored to be available with Windows 7?

Well first you’ll want to test your computer and to do that you’ll need to sign up for a Windows Sentinel account, which is free and developed by Devil Mountain Software. After you’ve signed up, download and install the DMS Clarity Tracker Agent from InfoWorld’s Windows Sentinel page and allow it to run and collect data about your computer for a couple hours during normal usage. Then follow the instructions for uploading the widget and see if your computer passes or fails. Now keep in mind with Windows 7 still along ways from completion there will be several changes to the testing software.
