Free Apps for your Windows mobile device
I found some free apps to add to your Windows mobile device that could make your experience with Windows mobile much easier to use and more enjoyable. With Windows Mobile approaching it’s ninth birthday there are tons of old and new software to enhance the user experience and make getting things done, or goofing off much easier.
Back up your Windows Mobile device by synchronizing to your computer.
Keep your home or work computer up to date with the same data your handheld has with the latest version of Microsoft Active Sync and if your a mac user check out SyncMate. A free utility PIM Backup helps you back up messages, speed dials, tasks, appointments, call logs and specified folders and files.
If you use Outlook on your computer you can sync and back up your contacts through Active Sync. If you’re not using outlook sync your Windows Mobile device to Thunderbird.
Dashwire is a remote backup solution that you can install on your Windows Mobile device and restore from the Dashwire web site.
Tired of Internet Explorer?
For everyday browsing the lower end version of Internet Explorer that comes with Windows Mobile is ok but if you’re doing more than just killing time you might wanna check out Opera Mobile 9.5 beta. This handy browser comes chocked full of features that IE just doesn’t have. Another alternative is the Iris Browser which comes with a built-in screen capture tool and a virtual mouse for a more desktop like view.
