We are constantly SWIPing and un-SWIPing network blocks and verifying our current SWIPs are correct. Lexmark x9350 Network Printer Product Review.

brett Ok let me start this by saying at this time I’m awaiting the RMA to send my Lexmark x9350 back to our supplier.  We needed a network capable printer to allow us to be able to print from a satellite office to our main headquarters.  After doing some searches online we ran across a decent deal on this x9350. It is capable of both wifi and Ethernet connections and offers the normal multi-function printer tools.  But after we received it and attempted to install it, the problems started cropping up.

Internet Explorer 8 Compatibility Issues.

brett March 19th 2009, Microsoft released IE8 to the general public and made it available for Windows updates. The good news with this version of IE is it includes improved standards support.  However for many of you who’s websites were designed with frontpage, word,  or powerpoint, you may find that your website no longer displays correctly. Some websites will be viewable by using the compatibility mode, but even that will not solve all the problems.

ASP CDO Email – Fixing the authentication error

As the developer here at High Speed Web, I get to deal with customers on special occasions. Generally these entail stand-offs between the technical support staff (which may or may not include network administrators) and the customers. The latter states that the problem is the server, while the former contends that it is the user’s code. So they bring in me, to either slap the administrators for not setting up their servers right or to show the user what we like to call the correct way to code. During my time here, I have helped several people out with their ASP scripts as pertaining to sending email. They all used CDO, and they all had the same problem: SMTP Authentication.

free cd burners for xp

brett If you have ever used XP or Vista’s native cd burning software you know how limited it is for even the most basic of tasks such as burning a audio cd.  Now personally I liked a free software called CDBurnerXP.  However for one reason or another, (usually .net framwork), the software keeps breaking and I have to spend time repairing it. So I decided to test a few softwares and see what worked well for me.

Windows Server 2008 Live Migration.

brett Coming in 2010, with the release of R2 for Windows Server 2008, is the new to Windows service called Live Migration. Live Migration is Microsofts version of VMware’s VMotion service which allows you to move Virtual Machines across servers without having to shut them down.
